Manual J (Residential Load Calculation):
Manual J is a Technical Manual produced by ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America). It outlines and sets forth the procedures for determining how much heat a home gains or loses. The Manual is based on the types of windows, doors, walls and insulation values (as well as other components) used to construct the home.
We use Manual J to produce our load calculation report and then are able to size the HVAC system based on it.
This very brief explanation is intended to give you an idea of what is involved in creating a proper Manual J/Load Calc report.
